This Ripe Pu-erh is called Lao Shu Jin Ya Gong Cha(老树金芽貢茶).

Lao Shu (老树) means Old Tea Tree. Jin Ya (金芽) – Golden Buds. Gong Cha (貢茶) – can be translated as “tribute tea for the emperor”, was tea of high quality which was presented to the imperial house. Add them up, and we get “Emperor's Tea of Golden Buds Old Tea Tree.”

The neat nicely pressed cake with many dark orange flakes. This indicates a high content of young tea shoots in the material. They acquire this unusual orange color during the deep treatment of Ripe Pu-erh and are considered a special feature.

When brewed quick, the tea gives a dark cognac infusion. Long brew does not spoil the tea. And even in very strong infusion the tea drinks effortlessly. Its taste remains soft and silky.

The aftertaste gives chocolate-fruit notes and barely perceptible sweet shades.

This is a nice, very balanced, beautiful tea. This is a fine example of the daily soft Pu-erh tea.
